I imported a Word document from my home computer to my laptop that has Open Office for its word processor. This document fits all on one page in Word, when I try to save it after copy and pasting to Open it takes a page and a half for the same document. I adjusted the header and footer and it's the same font and single spaced and it still takes up over a page. I checked and the same paper size is being used what in the heck is going on? It's hard to tell what's happening but you may have imported some Word formatting
Try Paste Special > Unformatted Text
or select alll and Format > Default Formatting
or
Check the spacing on the Style used -- Under the Spacing and Alignment tab.
