slowly slowly i'm stumbling forward!
So I have figured out how to use a form to update a dbf database which I query and analyse using autopilot in Calc ( it's my bank account wouldnt you know!)
Access allows me to create a 'lookup' to make data entry both quicker and less variable ( I use the data as categories to analyse the amounts)(dont ask why- its like a mountain that I have to climb just because its there)
my question is:
how does OOo let me do this?
Carl
ps I really like the international flavour of this forum and have the greatest respect for those of you who do this in a language that you had to learn. _________________ carl

As always when I take the time to REALLY read Solveig's book I find the answer.
Open the form/
change to design view/
rightclick on the column and replace it with a list box. /
rightclick again - choose column and then in the properties window /General tab add the list of items in the list entries field.Between entries use shift +enter.
select data tab and paste in the same list in the List Content field .
Close the window and save the document. _________________ carl
