Have Word Doc with check boxes, can't save checked boxes.

I have a Word doc that was created with check boxes. I want to open it with Open Office and work with the document, checking appropriate boxes and saving the form with the boxes checked. When I open the saved document (I saved as) the boxes are not checked. Can anyone help me with this delema!?

I can't reproduce that with Word 2002 and OOo 3.2.1. The status of check boxes is saved correctly every time. What version of Word do you save in and what version of OOo do you use?

I see, I forgot that I also have the 3.3.0 test version, and that keeps the check boxes, but go-oo 3.2.1 doesn't, an old bug if I remember correctly.

I tried it with OO.Org 3.3 dev and the check boxes do not save.

Something weird is going on here, or maybe it's that I'm dog tired. But on re-opening it, the check boxes disappear when I click on then in Word. The files loads hopelessly slowly in go-oo. When I load the file in 3.3.0 and tick some of the check boxes and save under a new name and open that file in Word, the check boxes don't work correctly. I suppose that they're broken in the conversion.

This is an old problem which I thought was fixed in the 3.2.x. I keep a copy of StarOffice 8 around for saving such files.
