Just to preface, I am not that great with computers, so I apologize if the answer to my question is totally obvious.
I tried to install OpenOffice yesterday. When the box came up asking me if I wanted to "run" or "save", I hit save. The dialog box then said that it was installing to a temporary folder and that it would take about 1 hour 30 minutes. I walked away and came back a couple hours later and the dialog box was closed but I couldn't find the program on my computer. I tried searching through Window Explorer and looking in my programs, but nothing. I saw that on the OpenOffice download page that I still had open it said that a message had been sent to an e-mail address to complete registration, but the e-mail addres wasn't mine, it was totally random and unfamiliar to me.
????? What did I do wrong and how can I fix it?
Thanks a lot!! |

What did you search for? In my case the name of the downloaded file would be OOo_3.2.1_Win_x86_install-wJRE_en-GB.exe
How are you downloading the program? Unless you are on a very slow dial-up modem it should not take anywhere near that long to save the file
For your next try don't save to a temporary folder. Save to something like the desktop or Documents
Once you have downloaded it (or found it ) just double click on it and follow the instructions.
Good luck _________________ jrkrideau
