So I have a database that was created in OpenOffice and edited just a few days ago with no problem. But now when I try to open the table in it I get this error:
"The connection to the data source [file name] could not be established. The connection to the external data source could not be established. No SDBC driver found for the given URL."
When I go to Edit -> Database the "Connection type" menu is greyed out and won't even let me select it. Any help? I've seen a few other threads of people having this error but haven't seen anything to solve it. Thanks. |

quinncollard:
Do you know, which database back-end you are using?
Is it the OpenOffice default, where on the Status Bar, at the bottom, it would say:
- Embedded database - HSQL database engine
- Other database back-end, such as, MySQL, Access, H2, HSQL JDBC, PostGRE, SQLLite, other?
If, it was the first one above, or, you are not sure, I might be able to help, but, first I need to know the above answer, if you know. If you are not sure, we can assume your database back-end is the first one.

I had the same error message today, also using the HSQL database engine.
I am using standalone forms and try to open them from a switchboard. It used to work before.
So did the private mail help? If so, could I have one too? |

Hi Sliderule
Thanks for quick response. Soon after the post i realized about my backup copy, which i always save manually at the end of every day. My backup copy is working fine. So the original copy seems corrupted. i am moving on with the backup copy.
Thanks again for you help. |
