For some time I have been using a database without any problems. But all of a sudden whatever is entered into one of the fields also appears in the same field in every other record, overwriting whatever was there before.
How do I change this, please?

Maybe you use a listbox in a wrong way.

I think a good starting point can maybe this [Tutorial] Forms in OpenOffice.org Base. You can find there also links to other tutorials. Not all tutorials are even important for you.
