Using Fontwork

I am trying to apply a bitmap fill to the area inside some Fontwork. At the moment I can only get it to fill each individual letter with the entirety of the bitmap. Is it possible to have the bitmap across the entire text (one bitmap length across the entire text rather than one length per letter/character), If it is possible how do you do it and if not can this be added to the functionality in a future release.
