Is it possible to view two pages side by side in OO Writer? I really miss that after having gotten used to it in MS Word especially now that I have a wide screen notebook!

Thanks. Smile

This was brought up and answered some time back. You can view using file/preview, but can not edit in that mode, and have to close it to the page you wish to edit. Then, back to preview to see more of 2 page viewing.

Thanks, David. I tried file/preview and that works for preview of two pages. Too bad editing can't be done there. I hope this feature will be implemented in the next release.

Hi tacurran,

although you can't "zoom" to view 2 pages side by side you can have 2 windows viewing the same file (Window > New Window), see these previous threads:

Thanks, James. Window/new window does indeed work although MS Word's 'view 2 pages' makes it easier to look at a large document and push lines around so paragraphs begin at certain positions on the pages. But, I guess I will learn how to use this new method Smile

Feature 1598 is implemented for OOo 3.0 and is ready for testing now

From the article: New Features in OpenOffice.org, An Early Look

This is a bit of an old post, so this reply is mostly "for the record' (such as people searching the archives). Tom, I hope you are still using OpenOffice.org. Smile
