|
|
Hello forum.
I have OpenOffice.org running on an iBook G4. It's kind of old, OSX 10.4.11.
I'm trying to stop OO from opening my PPT files. I want PowerPoint to be the default. I've looked it up and the directions are to open Options in the Tools menu.
The problem is that there is no Options in the Tools menu. Maybe it's a Mac thing.
Any idea how I change the default so that PPT files downloaded to my aging iBook will always open in PowerPoint?
Thanks in advance. |

Thanks thomasjk,
Unfortunately I've already tried the fix indicated there and it doesn't work for me. Clicking "always open with" does indeed change the program used to open that particular file. but it doesn't change the default application for that type of file generally. The next time I download a PPT file, the OS opens it in OO as if I hadn't done anything. |

I don't use a Mac but the tutorial says:
"At the bottom of that Finder window is a check box, "Always open with"; be sure to check it. Click OK. " Did you check that? |

That is pretty much how it also works in Gnome on Linux systems. _________________ --
