|
|
When I try to open an URL in OO Calc I get the following error message:
---------------------------------------------------
This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel.
---------------------------------------------------
What file type should I associate to what program?
I have Windows XP
OO 3.3.0
Firefox as default browser.
Can someone help? For the last month or so I go from one computer disaster or trouble to the next and I would appreciate any help very much. |

| What type of file are you trying to open with the link? Can you post the link here? |

| How are you inserting the link? Do you use Insert--->Link to external data or Insert--->hyperlink? |

I copy and paste the link.
I didn't have time to try the Insert link function since my reinstallation of Windows and OO yet.So I don't know if this works yet |

| I can't duplicate your problem. Cutting and pasting does not result in a click able hyperlink. |

I finally managed to fix the issue. It had nothing to do with OpenOffice but with dll libraries probably and with the HyperText Transfer Protocol.
I followed the instructions in this URL as good I could and I did it manually. Then I set Firefox again as my default browser.
support.microsoft.com/kb/929867
It is for IE 7 but it works for IE8 also.
Previously I had registered some dll libraries and tried some other things I found online, but I myself don't even know exactly what I did.
Well now when I click an hyperlink in OpenOffice it opens in my browser. I had the same problem with pdfs and other applications too but it is now solved, let's hope forever!. |
