3.2 icons remain after upgrading to 3.3

I upgraded from 3.2 to 3.3 on a Windows XP machine (not from within OOo, but with a 3.3 installation executable). Everything seemed to go OK, but now I have a curious mix of old and new icons... Old icons remain in Start menu and for all OOo documents; new icons show for .doc and .docx documents. I used the same installer to upgrade from 3.2 to 3.3 on Windows 7, and all icons are new. Any hints on how to correct this on the XP machine? Thanks.
