|
|
Hello,
I use some bigger pieces of text in 1 cell with the option of wrapping the text.
This works so far without a problem, given the editing perspective.
My problem is, when I look at the print preview or print the file or export it to pfd,
in cells where text is wrapped, some extra space shows up (depending on font
type and size this is more or less). This is before the text if the vertical allignment
is set at the bottom, or after the text if the allignment is set to top.
This results in ~1cm wasted space in each cell due to my current settings of font
type and size. Default formatting to arial and size 10 or something like that has the
same problem only this is less visible...
Anybody noticed this and has a practical solution? Thanks in advance,
Zoppa |

I have submitted a bug report...
Bug 117496 - unwanted white space in page preview and in print out
http://openoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=117496
Seems like you have to deliberately make the cells too small for the text to get rid of the unwanted white space.
Until the bug is fixed, if you open an extra window then shrink both windows so that they can be viewed side-by side, with one window in Page Preview and the other not, you can adjust the row heights while watching the white space disappear in the Page Preview window.

I cannot reproduce this issue on LibreOffice 3.3. In page preview nor in a PDF export, there is extraneous white space before or after the text.
Is this being observed in the latest Ooo 3.3? If not, see if the problem persists, if yes, then it would be an issue that specifically was addressed in LibreOffice, which is a fork of OOo. _________________ --

I have observed it in OpenOffice.org 3.3.0 OOO330m17 (Build:9551)

My version is OpenOffice.org 3.3.0 OOO330m20 (Build:9567)
Indeed, I noticed that this workaround is possible, for the time beeing I
will live with the extra space, because I have too large documents
to start adjusting every cell for itself.
Thank you for making the bug report. Can you change or edit that?
Maybe you can add that this white space is depending on font type
and size? |
