Cant find 'view source' for HTML document [SOLVED]

I opened an HTML document in openOffice writer and was able to edit it. I needed to directly access the souce code but there was no option under Menu > View.

After a bit of experimenting I found that if I created a 'new html document' using OO Writer the 'view source' menu does appear.

I've tried a number of pre-existing HTML documents, but OO writer refuses to show the view source menu (if I re-save the document, OO-writer embeds a string:CONTENT="OpenOffice.org 3.2 (Win32)"
but is still refuses to let me view the source HTML.

Is this a bug or do I need to add a special tag or is there some way of enabling this menu option?

All the searches I've done just mention something called OO Writer? Web but I assume this is an obsolete product.

I take it your using right click to open the file. Start Writer then File-> Open and select the file you wish to open.

Yes I was using right-mouse-click in windows explorer.
Opening the file through OO Writer makes it work. Thanks for this tip.

What is happening to make OO Writer behave differently when I open a file using these two different methods?

Is there something I can do to configure right-mouse-click to work properly. Or is it a bug in OO?

Glad to do what I can to help. I have no idea why it behaves differently if it is by design or a bug. If you can find a mailing list for the developers you might ask them.
