Can openoffice do it?
I thought it could for some reason, but didn't come up with anything in a quick skim through of the docs.

| Yes, through ODBC. So you set up ODBC for the access database .MDB and a datasource of type ODBC in openoffice. |

So can you at that point modify the table structure and create new tables?

| Haven't tried it myself ... no access database usage here now but no reason why not at the OOo end... if you are running access 2000 you may want to check out ADO as a datasource type as well... share your findings! |
