Hi, OO problem on winXP here -
It worked for about a week after install, then suddenly, OO will not launch (neither the quick launcher, nor the full application itself.
Gist of error message:
Contact admin ...blahblah
Internal error has occurred: GetStorage .... No Content!
I have tried repairing the install, no avail -- then uninstalled and reinstalled, also to no avail.
Suggestions, anyone?

It worked for a few weeks, then crashed.
Re-installation did nothing.
It might be something to do with the local(e?) settings, I did change them so that it would stop misspelling my words.
I tried as root, and had no problems whatsoever. |

If uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix it, then the problem is probably in your "user" folder.
This folder would have a name like....
/home/danny/OpenOffice.org1.1.3/user
You could just get rid of your "user" folder (or the entire /home/danny/OpenOffice.org1.1.2 folder).
Be aware that all of your user settings and preferences, global macros, document templates, etc. are stored within your "user" folder. So you may actually want to back up the "user" folder, let OOo create a new one, and then selectively move document templates and settings back into it.
On systems afflicted with Windows, on a single user install, the user folder is directly under your OOo installation. If you did a "network" install, then the user folder may be somewhere under your home directory on Windows, or in your profile. (I don't know much about such things so it is difficult to be specific.) _________________ Want to make OOo Drawings like the colored flower design to the left? |

On Widnows, the "user" folder may be in your OOo installation folder, if you did a single user install.
If you did a network install, then the "user" folder may be somewhere in your home directory under Documents and Settings. Sorry, I am unfamiliar with the specifics of this on Windows, since I have no motivation to study it. _________________ Want to make OOo Drawings like the colored flower design to the left? |
