|
|
I have a file that is a CSV type.
However, the extension is .CDR (telephone call records)
When I try to open it with Calc it always changes to Writer.
I looked for a way to change the file association of the .CDR file to be recognized as a Calc file but I could not find it.
Any ideas???
Thanks,

Even if you happen to use that Windows operating system, you are free to open any file with any program, even with a completely inappropriate one.
But that question has absolutely nothing to do with this office suite. It is entirely related to your system which you hesitate mention (no, you must not be ashamed for using Windows). It is the same solution which lets you open .mp3 files with your preferred media player.
From within this office suite you can select file type "Text(*.csv;*.txt)" and then type in the actual file name even when it does not match the current name filter. _________________ Rest in peace, oooforum.org

Thank you for your response.
I am using Windows and I did use the Windows "Open with" feature on the xxx.CDR file.
I told it to use Open Office Calc and it did open the Open Office Calc screen.
Then it switched to Open Office Writer.
I also used the "Open" file icon in Calc, found my file (xxx.cdr) and it loaded it and switched to OO Writer.
Where you say:
"From within this office suite you can select file type "Text(*.csv;*.txt)" and then type in the actual file name even when it does not match the current name filter."
I don't understand this.
