How can I suppress the header on the cover page of a manuscript?

Also, how can I force spellcheck to check in UK English and not US English?

Thank you :D

Hi.

It's not so much as you suppress a header as you use a different page style. That probably doesn't make much sense, so you could try this tutorial here:
http://chrismlindsey.com/how-to-remove-header-from-first-page-in-openoffice/

This previous question in the forum may help.

I hope this helps. Post back here if it doesn't, and if it does, don't forget to mark this post as SOLVED.

Thank you Very Happy

Assuming you want to do this all the time

Tools > Options > Language Settings > Language > Select the English UK option.

It should have a blue check mark beside it.

Thanks for help.

Now the only remaining issue is that I want page numbering to start at page 1 on page 2. I have suppressed the header on the cover page but page 2 still says page 2 instead of page 1.

Select the paragraph at the top of page 2, then Format - Paragraph - Text Flow tab, tick Breaks - Insert and With Page Style, the rest is simple.

You have a page style for page 2?

Insert > Manual Break > Page Break > select page 2 style and set page number
You probably would find the page Styles documentation at OOo Authors
to he helpful.
