Hello,

Here is what I want to do in OOo Write: I want to create a document that
when you open it, you get a form where you input some data and
select some boxes etc.
Based on your selections a separate form or letter is compiled.
Maybe this should be done in Calc since you have worksheets there.
This form/letter can then be printed and saved into a separate document,
all from this original document.

To be more specific: let's say I have 6 different policies, numbered
1 to 6. Selecting number 2 should display a specific text in the
destination sheet. Data from other fields, such as name, address etc.,
are also included in that destination sheet, which is then a
policy form that you can print and/or save into a separate document.
I hope my question is clear, and if all possible.
Maybe this is the wrong post section, but have to start somewhere
right.
Thanks for any replies/suggestions!!!

Stay with Writer and have a look at Edit>AutoText...
(see: http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=124595)

So, typing p2 and hitting F3 would insert your policy 2 into the document.

Does this help?

Winfried,

Thanks for the reply.

Actually, I know about the AutoText feature, and yes that would be option.
I just wondered whether what I posted would be possible too,
and then how to do it ofcourse.
Is it?

But thanks for your post!!

Cheers

Yes, but this would need some serious programming.

See Andrew's Macro Document for examples in BASIC

Thanks,

I know about that site, was already looking at it.
But I thought maybe someone could direct me straight to a useful macro.
In any case, thanks for your replies!!

Cheers
