Hi everyone,
I am currently using Open Office's word processor and first of all would like to say that it is a WONDERFUL program. Thank you all so very much for developing this.
Well I'm having one little problem that I am wondering if someone could kindly help me with.
I am a very novice webmaster whom is working on a website and I use open office to create my content and then copy and paste it over to "NotePad" and then saving that file as somewebpage.html and uploading that but when I do this I am running into trouble constantly with quotation marks.
Sometimes Open Office makes the quotation marks in links and <div class="somediv"> unrecognizable so that the page will not display properly.
Once in NotePad this is very obvious (if you look at the file) as you can see there are 2 different styles of quotation marks and then you have to screen thru the doc looking for stray quotations which have been edited by Open Office, delete them and hit the quotation mark key again on the keyboard once in the NotePad program and doing this regularly starts to become a hassle as you can probably imagine so I thought I would ask and see if someone could help me with this.
I looked around in the tool menus but was overwhelmed so I just thought I would ask here.
If anyone could assist me with this I would be very appreciative.
I Thank everyone a bunch in advance,
Stuart K |

| For plain quotation marks do Tools > AutoCorrect Options > Localize Options tab and uncheck both Replace boxes. |

Further to the OP's question, I have saved an existing Word doc to OO Writer. The text has dialogue and the opening quotation marks have changed from double commas to an inverted exclamation mark and a small o. The closing quotation marks remain correct.
I tried JohnV's method but without success, although I may not be doing something else right!
Can anybody please help?
