I created a drawing in the OO Draw program and saved it to My Documents. The extension that OO assigned was sxd. Then I opened a new OO Text document and tried to insert it by selecting Insert, Graphic so that I could put the drawing in the new text document. I cannot get the sxd file to show as a choice in My Documents because the sxd extension is not one of the types shown as a choice even when I select "all files". How do I create a drawing in OO and then insert it in a document?

a direct copy and paste is possible between two applications in OOo.

Otherwise select all of the drawing as one object and export that as a gif-file.

Then you can import it as a graphic in a Writer-document
