|
|
I've tried opening up table settings and adjusting the "Above" spacing, but nothing changes and I still end up with this:
As you can see, the top of the table bleeds into the top margin-border of the page. I tried some Google searching using the topic title, but apparently I wasn't using terms appropriate to finding my query, as I'm sure this has been asked before. What terms should I be using? What can I do to fix this so that the top of the table is visible and spaced nicely away from the top of the page?
Edit: Fixed by adding some content, but it would be nice to know the solution anyways.

| If you need extra spacing for tables (in addition to margins), you can use the "repeat header" setting ("text flow" tab of table properties), and make an extra (empty) top row without borders. Set row heigth as desired, and untick the option to adjust row heigth to content. |

Thanks! I'll play around with it.
In other news, there's a lot of little things in Open Office that I'm having trouble with, so I'll probably look up the Wiki again and see what I can glean from it.
Edit:
Hmm, I check off "Repeat Header" for the first "1" rows and I see no visible difference? I've set a newly inserted row above the desired content, with nothing in the cells (though the borders remain visible). |

Any idea how to achieve the reverse? I now have a table which is supposed to be seamless, which is split across two pages. The "continued" table has its borders disappearing into the top margin of the page, which makes sense. However, the original portion of the table on the previous page has a bottom border instead of bleeding into the bottom margin of the page to suggest continuity. I'd like to be able to achieve that, but I can't seem to drag the border down.
Examples:
What it looks like when it doesn't "bleed"
The desired effect where the cell bleeds into the margins, don't know why it does it for this page and not the other:
