Oh...
I'm realy realy realy (forever realy) unhappy with OpenOffice.org development team. Realy, realy. Why did you choose RPMs?? Why? I can't see ANY reason to make this realy (forever realy) bad decision. Ok... What can I do? Just post a message in this forum and wait the next development version to see that have stupid RPMs inside the tar.gz package.
Please fix this bug... |

Is there something we can do to bring more attention to this problem? Of course it's not a major problem now with preReleases but I am sure this will change soon. Couldn't someone start a poll in a prominent place (not in a special forum) or something?
Also still unhappy being kept away from testing,

I agree, though I use an RPM-based distro. Maybe the 2.0 installer just isn't ready yet?? _________________ Steve |

You're right. I was just reading the 2.0 "Q" product concept document, and it explicitly states:
| Quote: | | The platform independent installation is replaced by the support for standard, platform dependent installation routines - so called native installers - and their native installation packages. These are the Solaris Package (pkg) installation, the Linux RPM package manager (RPM) installation, and the Microsoft Installer (MSI) installation. |
The document does say that they will "provide a graphical front-end to guide the user through the installation process of the packages," for Linux and Solaris users. _________________ Steve |
