I am attempting to link word processing documents to the databases for fields in each document. Does anyone know how to do this?

That article was great but not exactly what I was wanting to know. I have forms that are in an electronic format and I would like to create a dBase which would contain all the information that I would want to enter. I would then like to print out the forms and the required data would automatically be filled in with the data from the dBase. This way I would have to do it anymore by hand.

Actually that is exactly what you want to do. Its called mail merge. What format are your electronic forms in? Are the OOo documents produced by writer? You can use a database file or spreadsheet to accomplish this.
