| When I save a writer document as HTML, it just does not look anything like the writer document. Is there anyway to generate a style sheet that will make the HTML document have the same formatting as the writer document. |

If you are looking for a wysiwyg html editor, then I'll give OOo writer a 'FAIL' grade |

| I've reverted to handcoding, especially since I have learned some php as well. Indeed, OOo is not perfect for rendering pages exactly the way as they will appear in a standard browser. If you want wyswyg editing with exact control, then use a dedicated html editor. The Mozilla suite has a good wysiwig editor component, but if, like me, you prefer to use Firefox and Thunderbird, then it would be a pitty having to need to install the Mozilla suite along just to use the HTML editor component. Fortunately, the people of the Linspire Linux distribution (formerly Lindows) are building a stand-alone editor based on the Mozila code. It is called Nvu. Don't be scared by the early version number. I started using it from version 0.35 on, and it is perfectly useable and full featured. |
