My laptop uses a multilingual keyboard. My language is English Canada, however for some reason Writer decides to use french characters instead of English. This doesn't happen in Notepad or wordpad, so I suspect it has to do with a setting in Writer.

Are you sure this isn't an OS problem. The keyboard (on Linux at least) can be different for different applications. Check your Windows keyboard language setting when you have OpenOffice open. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.6 on Fedora 18, LibreOffice 4.0.2 on Ubuntu 13.04 (Double Boot) |

weird, it works now, I just open the language bar had it hidden before, made no changes to it. Now it started acting normally. Thanks for the reply. |
