Text disappears

I have a bug that is rendering oowriter virtually unusable. I'll be typing along when suddenly what I'm typing disappears. I can make it reappear temporarily if I try different font sizes, but the cursor ends up about 8 characters ahead, and it's still invisible, so i don't know where I'm typing or whar is being erased if I delete.

update: it looks like this is repeatable and happens whenever I use the double quotations. Maybe I'll turn the auto-formatting off for that, but that's still annoying.

Are you using Windows? If so, I suspect you've installed some malware. [Some malware was doing that to me with WinXP, and OOo.]
