i've tried to set up automatic spell check as per the instructions in help, but for some reason the only time i ever get the red squiggly lines under an error is when i import a word doc. also, when i run a manual spell check, even when i've put in deliberate typos, a second later i get a reply telling me the spell check is complete, and nothing's been corrected or spotted.
i've got auto correct/auto format running, i've ticked spell check in languages, and i've set the language i want to use. where should i go from here?
many thx in advance. |

Hi witold,
To Easily Turn The Auto Spellchecker On
This function is not on by default (among others). I discovered that when I first started using Writer to test the features last night.
-Look to your left at the main toolbar. There is a button with "ABC" with a red wavy line beneath the letters. It should be located right below the regular Spellcheck button.
-Click on it to activate.
If The Button You Need Is Not There At All
-Click View
-Point to Toolbars
-Click Customize
-The Customize Toolbars box appears
-The list of Available Buttons is on the left/a list of Buttons In Use is on the right
-Add and Remove button located between the two lists
-Check in the Buttons In Use list forst to see if it is in the list and click in its box
-If not you will have to add it
-In the Available Buttons list, scroll down until you get to Options
-There should be a + sign in front of it
-Click to reveal the menu
-Scroll to choose ABC (with red wavy line) AutoSpellCheck On/Off
-The Add button is Highlighted
-Click Add to add your button feature to the list of Buttons In Use.
-If neccessary, click in its box to add it to the Toolbar
-Click OK
I hope that this solves your problem.
