Default printer defined in XP SP3 but not available in OOo

I have just installed 3.3, OpenOffice after leaving, I hope, MS Office.

However, I am at a loss to understand why there is no printer in the print setup area, specifically in CALC.

As you can guess, I am much a newbie so anyone that can help, I would appreciate a simple fix rather than a complicated one (even though I am a systems engineer in retirement).

Have u tried updating ur printer driver?
