Hi,
I'm trying to generate a PPT document with OO, containing a chart. The chart (inserted via Insert -> Chart) is visible after being loaded in Powerpoint 2000 but is not editable: the right-click menu shows it being a "-objekt" (i.e. missing object type). Double-clicking show a message (in Danish, not unexpectedly of course) that paraphrased says that the server for the element could not be found (Microsoft Graph is installed, as is MS Excel).
I also attempted to make a separate spreadsheet, create a chart THERE and paste the chart to the presentation, with the same effect.
After some Google searching I found another earlier thread on this board which goes a year back and claims it is possible:
http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=921
However, enabling both Loading/Saving conversion does not seem to have any effect: the PPT files have exactly the same problem (and I cannot do the conversion the other way around either).
What am I missing? This is using OO 1.1.0; I tried the same procedure with the latest 2.0 snapshot and it yielded the same result.
While it's not my goal, the PPT to Impress OLE conversion also fails (i.e. the objects appear but are not editable). Here's such a PPT generated chart that contains both a MS Graph and MS Excel chart:

So if anyone can load it and click on both the charts to edit the data, obviously your OO is better configured than mine |

I tried your presentation, i was able to edit the graph data in Impress 2 beta...
It opened up MS Graph and i was able to add value labels, change data etc.
But once i close MS Graph the slide gets distorted (fonts etc).
If i save as ppt again, and open it, fonts etc are fine and data is still updated.
Also, it seems there is a bug, in slide show mode, data label values get cut in half, where the top half is missing.
If i edit the excell then everything comes out perfect.
Im running MS office 2000 and Outlook 2003, with full installation of all extras.
Maybe that makes a diference? |
