Hi,

I'm trying to set OOo to always save documents in the same folder. Most of these are downloaded into one folder and I want to save them in another (without the program automatically defaulting to the Downloads folder from which the file was opened).

I already have the desired save folder set as the default save location, but this seems to be overridden by the documents being downloaded and opened from a set folder. The idea is to edit the documents, put the edited document in a new folder, and keep the original around in the Downloads folder.

It would also be helpful if there is a way to set it NOT to save in the Downloads folder.

Thanks!

No, there is no way.

Copy the documents to edit to the new folder first (by your operating system), then start editing them.

As the DOWNLOADS folder is one of all of your folders nothing prevents OOo from saving there - except your operating system. Set up a new user, withdraw the right to WRITE to some folders and run OOo from that user. Only way...
