|
|
Hey, I want to configure my mozilla addressbook for access in OO (I have done this before), however address book is not available from database type drop down list. So what do I need to do.
I am running OO.org 1.1.2 on gentoo linux (hence OO was compiled from source, so is this a configure option???)
thanks in advance |

You don't say if you have done this or not, so I will assume not. You need to export the address book in a form OOo can read as a datasource. CSV is what I would use.
Once that is exported into a format OOo can read, then you set up your Datasource in the normal way.

| I don't believe I do, in the past I have selected addressbook as source, then selected mozilla as the type and everythings been sorted for me. This is also the method described in help. |

Try File > AutoPilot > Adressdatasource.
Mozilla is mentioned there :

Cheers, but I am told "connection could not be established" and under details it says "no SDBC driver found for the given URL". So do I have to install a seperate package??? If so which one, and will I need to recompile OO.
I'm getting a feeling this is a bug in the gentoo ebuild dependencies/config options. |

Sorry,
I'm not (yet) a Linux-user, so have to pass on this.
Good luck

I know it does not solve the problem, but to get the functionality you need, you could export from Mozilla. I know this does not allow you to work with the dynamic datafile that will update and change with usage. But if it is something you need to get done at the moment, until you are able to find the fix, this would get you there.
I don't use Mozilla as a suite. I use Thunderbird. But since I am not sure that my install is "normal" I am not sure whether it is supposed to work for me or not. It does not. But I can export and pull it up.
Good luck on your quest.
