In MS Word, you can search for and replace special non-printing characters that represent a format cue rather than text. There's a list of these, most of which start with a "^". For example, to search for all your paragraph marks at the end of each paragraph in your document, you search for ^P.
I had a nice little macro set up to go thru docs that had been imported from, e.g. email, where each line ending was a hard paragraph, and many of them were in the wrong place. The macro searched and replaced ^P with a space, unless it was a double ^P (the real intentional end of a paragraph) in which case it reduced it to a single one.
I need to be able to do this in OpenOffice.org writer, so I don't go mad from having to manually remove the hard return from the end of each line in badly formatted text.
Help, please?

Use the AltSearch extension. First replace two paragraph ends with one followed by a special character, then replace single paragraph end not followed by that character with a space.
And please quit adding those image links, I consider them as spam and will remove them anyway. I would have deleted this entire post but it's a serious question. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista
