No appreciable difference so far because the development of Base has been virtually nil during the LibO era. That will change in the future as it appears that these groups have adopted incompatible licensing. _________________ Soli Deo gloria

All 3.4 versions of both suites always load Writer documents in page view which makes database forms unusable or very ugly at least. This problem has been fixed in LibreOffice 3.5.1.
There used to be a performance problem that affected the combination of
Linux+Java-DB+OOo/LibO.
LibreOffice 3.5.1 for Linux runs Java-DBs with any recent version of Java6 _________________ Rest in peace, oooforum.org

I experienced the problem Villeroy described regarding unusable forms. I have been using OOo Base for years now. But I tried LO and my forms were rendered very ugly. I'm glad to hear maybe that is now fixed.
I was interested in LO because of the big Java problem with OOo Base. But I found that Java version -22 works speedy and very well. But as time marches on, I hope OOo Base addresses the problem too. Right now only version -22 can be used to link MySql database, and it's not too easy to find or setup. _________________ Billyray

Linux distro: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, Lucid Lynx, OOo Base 3.3, connected to MySql database using Java jdbc (note: ONLY sun-java-6-1.6.0_22 jre works right), and converted from MS Access 2003. |
