Hello, I am new to the community and to database creation. I have learned a lot from this forum, but there is one thing that I can not figure out how to do.

I have been tasked with setting up a database for a local community volunteer outreach. Some of the volunteers who will be in the office and will need to fill out certain forms will be older and rather computer illiterate. I need to be able to run forms independent of the BASE environment so that all of the buttons and various other controls are not able to be seen, so as not to confuse the use. I would prefer to open the form in an HTML environment if possible. Can someone point me in the direction of how to accomplish this?

Thank you very much in advance.

How can computer illiterate persons fill out electronic forms? This is absurd. Let them fill out printed forms. Anything else is a waste of time.

Thank you so much for your concerned reply, however it does nothing to help my situation. I hope you have a splendid day.

To the best of my knowledge, Base can not run forms outside of Base.

I think if you want to go that route, you will need something a lot more robust than Base, something like MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.

What is so confusing with a Writer form that would not exist in a browser form?

I don't want to cause any undue confusion with all of the extra controls around the screen. And I do believe I said "I prefer" to be able to do so. I didn't say "I exclusively" want to do so. If it is possible to do it by any means other than from within the BASE environment, I would be content.

I realize Corfy said that they didn't believe it was possible, but I would like a more definitive answer before I give up.

I have still no idea what you are talking about.
When you open a Base document you see a list of usable input forms which are Writer documents. You can hide rarely used forms in a folder.
When you open such a form document there is an obsolete Writer menu.
You can turn off all the other elements, leaving either the navigation toolbar or the equivalent navigation control.
You can save a form as a stand-alone document and open that from the desktop. (save-as, close, open file, reconnect form(s) to database, make file read-only)

When I visit an online shop or this forum I have by far more browser controls and obsolete stuff on the screen. "My users" deal with Base perfectly well while they are unable to edit a spreadsheet or work efficiently with a word processor.

Okay, thank you. This is what I was trying to accomplish. I'm sorry if my original post wasn't clear. As I said, I'm new to database programs, and even thought I've learned a lot in the last 3 days, I have a long way to go. I do appreciate the help.
