I want to convert some Chinese documents from Traditional Chinese to Simplified Chinese and vice versa.
i.e. Select some text, click a button, then the text will toggle between Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.
Is it possible for Chinese version OpenOffice.org Writer now or sometime in the future? |

This feature is in v.2 but still not working in 1.9.65.
At the meantime, search the web for the file convertz570.zip. |

1.9.65 is the latest Beta version of v.2, which can be found at the OOo, download page. To me it is quite stable but some of the features are still not working. The conversion feature is in the menu of 1.9.65 but still not working. I suppose the final v. 2, which scheduled to release in early next year, will have it working.
Have you manage to find the convertz570.zip? |

I tried to use ConvertZ 5.70 on a XP Home SP2 Trad. Chinese computer.
But it did not work to convert Taiwan Trad. Chinese to Simplified Chinese.
Maybe I had to install some other fonts or what, I did not know.
The result is negative, I think most of the users will be just like me.

| What do you get after the conversion? Do you have a simplified Chinese Font install? Or at least a MSSong, MSHei, or SimSun that contain the Chinese Characters. Read the help file of convertz570, that helps. |

I have only SimHei, SimSun fonts installed.
Where can I get Simplified Chinese fonts?
I've read the readme file.
It says the application will auto-detect what it need for work.
But I didn't see any massage alert. |

It seems to me that you have get it right. You probably have click the wrong button. Try the following, of course save you work first.
Select some texts and copy them to clipboard (Ctrl-C). To convert to traditional Chinese click the button with the "Uni 繁 (fan) to simplified click "Uni 简. (Jian)
Paste the converted texts onto wherever you want them to be with ctrl-V. Hope that helps. |

| The 1.9.X is still beta anyway. I have tried the convertz570 and find that it works very well. In fact I cannot find any other free converter in the web. Hope that it works for djluh35 too. |
