set up for multi user on mac

Hi. I have an Apple Mac running Lion and Open Office oo-dev 3.4.0. Both of these products are new to me.
My Mac is set up with two user accounts i.e. myself as an administrator user and my wife as a non admin user. I have downloaded Open Office and it works fine for me but it is not accessible to my wife i.e. it does not show up in the Finder under her account. Is there any way I can make it available to her account as well? If it means changing her account to an administrator one I am quite happy to do that if necessary.

Another query I have is that when I open the Finder OOo-dev is shown under Devices as if it is on a CD. Is this normal please?
