|
|
I am no spreadsheet expert, but i have cobbled the following together using bits of code from the internet:
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1colqQ9mrgiaXZUUGxxQldhOWM
I really need to have the following added and would love to get some help/tips/advice, or just to know if i am trying to do the impossible....
I would like that when the clock is clicked, the date is populated in column a, then the time in b. When it is clicked a second time, the time is populated in c and then it drops down to the next row, ready to timestamp for the next day.
Currently, all i have is it will timestamp the active cell.
I would also like to be able to protect the cells so that the time cannot be altered by the user. Currently, if i protect them, the timestamp will not function.
Can anyone offer some help please?

Very easy to do with a database. You can define a column to put a time stamp into each new row and hide that row from the user interface. _________________ Rest in peace, oooforum.org

Since you do not even tell us your office version nor operating system you are the one and only person to know.

Thanks established user. That is really helpful to the thread and the forum.
'Welcome to the openoffice community' it said when i first used it.
Unless i have misunderstood the German/English translation, you have just politely asked a new user of openoffice to go away and stick to excel?
Enjoy the forum, i see you post often. Perhaps if you used your attention to helping, rather than showing off that you know more, it would help the forum.
Or like i said, maybe it is in the translation?
I am off to seek help elsewhere, or try another method. Or maybe i just havent found the openoffice community yet to help with what i thought was a perfectly sensible question.
Anyone googling my question will find things like this and be put off of joining the forum for fear of answers like this. As a newbie, i did not know that OS or version made a difference to spreadsheets.
I do now.
