I just installed the new OpenOffice and started swriter. It crashed with error messages GLIBC_2.7 and GLIBC_2.11 not found. I know that I have an old version of RedHat (I am constrained to use it under the contract on which I am working). However, my gcc version is 4.1.2.

Is there a fix for this?

Is this a bug in the new release?

I will be going back to 3.3 while I await replies
