macro and icon stuck on function bar

I have had success with this before, but seem to be having trouble recently.

I'm using Novell's 1.1.3 version of OOo, have created a template with its own macros in. I then assign the macro onto the function toolbar using the Customize feature. I then save the document as a template, import that template into OOo and create a new document based on the template.

When I close the document, but not OOo, and then open a blank document (File->New->Text Document), the icon from the template is still on the Function bar.

Even if I close OOo and open again in Writer mode, the icon is still there!!

I have used another template where this does not happen but can't figure out why it is working for this template.
