Bulletted list "appear" & "fade"

I am looking at an animation that we often use for our presentation.

It goes slide title and then a bulleted list. Each list item comes in one at a time with the most recent item being a highlighted colour. In Powerpoint this is child's play. Slide Show/Custom Animaton - choose appear and then choose a colour for the fade colour in the after animation section. This effect helps keep attention on the most current point.

In Impress I can almost duplicate this effect with Slide View-Effects icon choose Appear from Other category and then in Extras choose Fade Object with Color. However when the Slide Show is run it takes two mouse clicks to complete the animation for each bullet point.

Even a Powerpoint file imported into Impress changes from one-click to two-click. Interestingly an Impress files saved in PPT format when viewed in Powerpoint reverts to one-click.

Is there any way to change this behaviour within Impress.
