| Crtl + Alt + C doesn't make the copywrite symbol. However Alt + 0169 does work |

Try ...Insert ...Special character from the top menu for the copyright symbol.

Am I missing something please? I tried that and just saw what I typed ...no autoreplacement.

In my installation of 1.1.4 Tools > AutoCorrect/AutoFormat > Replace tab has (C) and copyright symbol as the first entry - perhaps yours has been deleted or replacements disabled?
