Hello,
I recently installed Open Office because the "Computer Guy" in our local paper recommended the program. I wanted to set up a spreadsheet to help me handle some things I want to do with our golf league. I know almost nothing about spreadsheets, but after reading the help section and some info from JohnV. I was able to set up a spreadsheet with the formulas to do what I wanted, which is to keep track of the actual averages of 12 golfers playing 18 weeks. After I was finished, I printed out the sheet and decided I wanted the report to have lines like a grid. I went searching on the toolbar and in the drop boxes but could not find how to do it, but I evidently did some thing wrong because now when I want to preview the page to see how it looks, I get a blank grey page. After a couple tries to get it back I just deleted the data and the files from My Documents. How, when I open the home page for Open Office I have 4 files in the "Open Tag" that gives the Error Message, "File does not exist!" Should I just un-install the program and re-install it, or is there a solution to my mistake?

this sounds like you have adjusted the print range

calc will not realise that you have deleted files and will continue to have them in the recent documents list until such time as they not recent documents.
Your post says to me that you had no unfixable problems and probably deleted your work unnecessarily and they will have to be recreated, unless they are still sitting in your recycle bin of course
Unless I have seen wrong, there is no need to uninsta/re-instal Calc, but just playing with it some more will tell you more than I can. _________________ If your problem has been solved please add "[Solved]" to the beginning of your first post title (edit button). |

Ozzie, You are right, I had somehow changed the "Print Range". I set up a new Spreadsheet with a different file name and everything came out ok. I still would like to know how to have the lines in the spreadsheet be visible when I print the page. Also, did you say that the files in the home page "Open" will just go away if I don't click them for a while? Thanks so much for your help. Now I'm a "Semi Dummy" ppopko |

Once you've defined the Print Range, click on File > Page Preview ; just above the
URL box, click on Format Page > Sheet and click on the box next to " Grid ".
