|
|
My daughter is running OO 3.2, in Ubuntu 10.04.
Recently her system shut down due to overheating while she was working on an ODS spreadsheet. which was not recovered in the normal way.
She found a workaround which recommended finding a "common.xcu" file, to rename the file "common.xcu.old". restart OO and the file would be OK.
She found the file but it was locked and couldn't be renamed.
How does she overcome this, and can the file be retrieved? |

She probably didn't kill some OOo process still running, for instance the infamous QuickStarter. As long as there's still an OOo process running, some critical files are locked. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista

Thanks for your reply, but is the workaround she found feasible, and if so, how does she unlock the corrupted file(s)?
As her system crashed, she was unable to kill anything. |
