|
|
Hi Folks,
I've been using OOo for years and the mail merge function, successfully, the whole time, but, today, the emails weren't sending. It wasn't complaining, but nothing was moving.
I checked the mail merge e-mail settings in Options -> Writer, tested the settings and got the 'establish connection to network - failed' message.
I'm on a MacBook with OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and OOo 3.4.
I ran the same mail merge about a month ago and all went fine. The only thing I am sure has changed in-between is upgrading to OOo 3.4.0.
Just to be clear:
1. I am definitely connected to the internet
2. I can successfully ping the different mail servers I'm trying to use
3. The server settings, login, password, port, etc. all work for sending and downloading mail with Apple Mail
Did the upgrade change some of my settings?
What settings, other then the mail merge settings, govern this sort of thing?
Do I need to get a different Java environment?
It's frustrating that the error message says it can't establish a network connection, which is odd because I am connected, but when I run the mail merge, it says that I have established a connection to the outgoing mail server, which I manifestly haven't.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
