|
|
Just updated to OO 3.4. I have several files saved to my desktop that before I upgraded, the preview/picture image of the file was visible. Now it's not. How do I fix this? It is so much easier to find the file when the preview is visible!!
May actually uninstall this and download the previous version if necessary!
Anyone? |

You may have disabled the Windows Explorer extension. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista

Do a repair install, click Custom installation when that option is offered, check all items, I forgot where the Windows Explorer extension sits, but it comes with the install file. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista

Hi,
Thanks for your responses. Almost there I hope!
I went to installation and had to click "modify" the Explorer option you mentioned is currently set at:
this feature will be installed on local hard drive.
There are 2 other options:
2. this feature and all it's sub features will be installed on the local hard drive.
3. this option will not be available.
Should I check the second one with sub features???
Another setting for Active X control is set as: this option will not be available. Should I change that setting???
Thanks for your help, almost there

Safest is to select the option 2 - with sub features.
If you don't need the plug-in for Internet Explorer, you don't need the Active X component. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
I got so frustrated, I uninstalled 3.4 and downloaded 3.3.
STILL - No previews on any of my files, ugggh!!! I have so many OO saved files on my computer, not having the thumbnail preview is driving me crazy and making it very hard to find specific ones.
I will reinstall 3.4 if we can get this worked out. I've spent many hours searching to see if there is a way to fix this...
Thanks for you help! I do appreciate it! |

I just installed the Windows Explorer Extension on Libreoffice 3.5 on WIN7. Here is what I did:
Control Panel--->Programs and Features. Scroll down to Openoffice. Right Click and select Change then Modify. Under Optional Components I selected Windows Explorer Extension and This Feature Will Be installed on local hard drive. Click Next and follow any remaining prompts.
This works from within OOo using File Open. If you are using the OOo dialogs it does not work. Go to Tools--->Options--->Openoffice.org--->General and uncheck "Use Openoffice Dialogs". This only works when you use the OS Open dialogs. |
