|
|
Hi,
Im new to calc, but having noticed that data pilot omited sum data i have endeavoured to manually enter some sums and heres a weird and puzzling thing.
The totals for this particular January is $10096. When i total the days individually they were perfect and tallied nicely
=SUMPRODUCT(Transactions.D1:D18000;Transactions.H1:H18000="Monday";Transactions.L1:L18000=2011;Transactions.I1:I18000="Jan")
and same for Tues, Wed..... all good and correct.
But when i do one for the month as a whole.. which is 3 of the same 4 arrays.
=SUMPRODUCT(Transactions.D2:D18000;Transactions.L2:L18000=2011;Transactions.I2:I18000="Jan")
i get 2818 total........
I then tried to filter for 2011 and Jan to see if there was any odd transactions and it doesnt filter out all other transactions. Im left with 1000+ other trans from other years and months.
Is calc 100% reliable.... I wanted to get away from Excel

Using spreadsheets for accounting is a legitimate reason to get fired. _________________ Rest in peace, oooforum.org

The seven days come out correct.
The seven days added together add up correctly
But the monthly total when i dont select for any given day gives an erroneous total
I have dozens of simple worksheets and workbooks.
One particular worksheet is 12000 rows and i need to know if the numbers it gives out are reliable and i dont need to be aware of workarounds and blindspots.
Please save me a few weeks of effort if calc is a work in progress. And i will reluctantly stick with excel for a little longer.

Sooner or later you will get a wrong balance. Spreadsheets do not work. They are not designed to be used like this.
There is not a single professional software which stores book entries in spreadsheets. This is ridiculous. _________________ Rest in peace, oooforum.org
