I work with both. However, I'm hoping to get rid of the extremely overpriced Filemaker Pro with oOo. So far, it looks like I will be able to. Funny think is, the 1.9.71 build works better than the .74 build.
Anyway, the only think I haven't learned to do was create a Runtime Application from the database I create. |

Thanks for your reply. I'd love to switch from FileMaker Pro to OOo Base, but the latter has some serious shotcomings (see my other post http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=16451) - at least for what I do.
Anyway, have you tried to connect OOo Base to FileMaker Pro? Did it work for you?
To answer your question regarding the possibility to create runtimes, I don't think it's possible. I don't think that this feature will be implemented anytime soon, either. _________________ http://code.google.com/p/writertools/ |

The ODBC conection only works on Windows platforms, which is why I have chucked FMPro for mysql and access that via ODBC from OOo. There are no FMPro ODBC drivers available for free under linux or MacOSX.
