I installed OpenO on my bosses computer. He wants to send out quotes via email using OpenO. The problem is that when we sent it to one of our computers with word 2000 on it, it opend the document in scrabbled letters. That is of great concern because if we send out quotes with OpenO and the clients open it with Word, that could get quite embarrasing. Is there anything that I can do in the installation of OpenO that could make the sxw docs open in M$.

Help Appreciated,
Zeke

What about sending those documents as pdf? File -> Send -> Document as PDF attachment

You might want change the default format to .doc. Go to Tools - Options - Load/save - General, and set Alwas save as to Microsoft Word 97/200/XP. Next time your boss saves a doc, it will be saved in Word format.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Dmitri

Please excuse my slow uptake, but I'm very new to this program, but do you mean in the OpenO that I must do this or in M$?

Hi Zeke,

In OOo.

But I would definitely recommend the PDF option for sending out Quotes too - then they can't be "edited" later Wink

In OpenOffice.org Wink

Of course, if the end-users don't need to edit the received documents, then the PDF option is a better solution.

Dmitri
