Hello. I am new to this forum. I am not new to writer. I am using SuSE9.3 and the Novells ver 2 of OO. Prior to ugrading to SuSE9.3 from 9.2 I was able to print #10 envelopes on my HP Deskjet832c with no problem. After the upgrade, my envelopes will not print even though they are properly formatted and the printer driver is correct. The result is the return address prints as if the envelope was set to portrait. The Addressee does not print at all. What can be done to correct this problem? I run a small business and need to send out correspondence and hand printing envelopes is not professional.
Thx

Hello smdonnel
I was concerned for the same reasons as you about difficulty in envelope printing. My test steps are as follows:
I followed these steps to do a manual (not merged) single envelope printing:
Insert>Envelope>Envelope tab: with manual entering of the recipients address and ticking the Sender box to apply my address (as previously entered in the Options dialog boxes)
On the Printer tab, I selected a centered envelope feed narrow end into my hp 3330 mfp laser printer. The setup button opposite the printer name led me to choose paper as #10 envelope; choose New Document and the envelope preview is presented. You can then print in the usual way.
For me, the result was a #10 envelope printed as expected.
To test the same printing with an hp 710C ink jet with off center envelope feed - as long as I selected the appropriate picture of envelope feed the printing was also successful.
As an aside for mail merge printing:
In the book StarOffice6.0 Haugland & Jones discuss the problems with the envelope template and mail merging (see page 376...). My general conclusion from the book is that these two features of StarOffice6.0 & OOo 1.1 had significant problems and should be avoided.
I hope that this discussion is helpful.
