|
|
Operating System: Mac OSX - Mountain Lion
I had to force quit OpenOffice.org. When I started it up again there was a popup that appeared. It stated the following:
"The last time you opened OpenOffice.org, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again. If you choose not to reopen windows, you may have to open and position the windows yourself."
The button actions offered are "Don't Reopen" and "Reopen". No matter which button I click this popup does not disappear. I have reinstalled OpenOffice.org and I still get the popup.
What can I do to get rid of this?
Thank you for your help!

| It has to be that some flag is corrupted and not set. I feel like just dragging the ooo icon to the trash is not enough to fix that. Must be something in the library that needs to be deleted. |

| Thank you for the suggestion. I just tried resetting the user profile and that did not fix the problem. |

Folks, I love OOo but I am about to bail on OpenOffice if I cannot get this problem resolved. How can I completely uninstall OOo and reset the flag that is causing OOo to think there are still windows to open. Please see the original post for details.
Thank you for your help!! |

| Are you seeing a recovery window? I'm not a Mac user so if its something related to the OS I can't help. Can you post screen shot at www.mediafire.com and post the link so we can see exactly what you are descrbing? |

I've don't recall seeing this with the windows version so it may be related to the Mac version and the new OS. You may want to post here http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/index.php for more help. |

… I ran into the same problem. Frustrating, ain't it! The solution?
- Open your folder "Library/Saved Application State/," and delete the folder in there named "org.openoffice.script.savedState", and the application will start again without presenting this dialog.
You can open the "Library/Saved Application State" folder by selecting your Home folder in the Finder, selecting the Finder "Go" menu "Go to Folder…" command, and entering "Library/Saved Application State" in the text field.
NO COMPUTERS WERE HARMED IN PROCESS OF INVESTIGATING THE PROCEDURES REQUIRED TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM
… but you can bet there was a fair amount of cussing involved. (Sometimes 25 years of Mac programming experience stands me in good stead, to paraphrase Nietzsche: "When you go to computers… don't forget the whip!").
thanks, and good luck!
